Early May Birds
With crappy grey weather and challenging medical issues, it’s been great to have an influx of birds in our yard this week
. Yesterday, I woke to a new bird call. It was this male Rose-breasted Grosbeak in our bushes. (Later I saw his mate.)
For several days we have been hearing Northern House Wrens singing out back and it seems they’re checking out our bird houses.
A surprise visitor yesterday was a Baltimore Oriole, which we’ve seen elsewhere in the area in years past. We now have three males adding delight to our viewing - no females yet.

Every day brings new birds to the area and as usual, the trees pop just in time to make viewing tricky. May your May be filled with song and color.

Beautiful birds. You are so fortunate to view these tender vulnerable creatures at this time of year.
Thank you for sharing,
Peter
