Eagle Neighbors

We have settled into a lakeside cottage, thirty minutes from home, and enjoying a Vermont July. Right across from us is a nesting family of Bald Eagles. Here a shot from our deck.

Fom the same spot, at maximum zoom, you can see one juvenile with the nest.

Risking dunking my new camera, I kayaked over this morning and saw one of the parents. (A slight breeze made the camera work interesting.)

We also have a family of four Common Loons who sound alarm calls whenever the eagles are flying. I need to remember these days next winter.
