Gothcha - Green Heron

One of my nemesis birds for this year in the county is the Green Heron. They’re not rare but rather elusive - one of those “you should have been here yesterday” birds. Well, Sally and I and the dog went looking this morning and voila, one put on a little show for us.

The raised crest may signal an alarm.

The most birds that I’ve ever logged for Washington County in a year was 143 and this is number 148 for this year. It’s nice, at my age, to set a PR. Have a birdy August.
