Saturday Paddle
Between poor weather and competing schedules, we haven’t got out in the kayaks much. Today, I got a chance to get out early and while bird activity is light in midsummer, I enjoyed seeing some lakeshore nature.
But first, after seeing our resident Common Loons, I came upon this juvenile Bald Eagle patiently waiting for breakfast.
Further along, this cluster of St. John’s Wort caught my eye.
This part of the lake is off-limits due to Loon nesting but the signs are down until next season. Here is one of the floating platforms that provide a safe nesting site.
While being evidence of eutrophication, Water Lillies are lovely.
While getting in and out of kayaks for me is not pretty these days, it’s great to get out on a pretty Vermont lake.
